The game almost started sensationally for the Stingrays, with Sebastian rifling from a shot from just inside WAB's half hitting the post with the goalie beaten. Typically WAB were not daunted by this and responded, forcing James and Callum to make goal saving tackle and save to keep them out. The quick and determined WAB strikers persisted and they were rewarded with three goals in succession (0-3). Reeling from the early deficit, the Stingrays through Christopher, JJ, Jordan and Lenny mounted a response. One attack ended in a free kick just outside the WAB goal area, Sebastian nominated to take it, Ronaldo like, kept the ball low eluding both the wall and goalie to peg one back for the Stingrays (1-3). Again WAB responded positively and after aerial ping pong between defenders and attackers the ball was slotted home by despite one save by Callum (1-4). The 2nd half started more positively for the Stingrays, everyone playing with more focus and determination. As a result the game was tighter. It took some excellent play from Joe heading on to Christopher, who lashed home the Stingrays second, to make the breakthrough (2-4). Connor G almost made it a third missing from just in front of the goal after a great cross from the ever determined Jonathan. Callum was forced to make numerous saves to keep the Stingrays in the game, with Sammy and Connor B helping out where they could. Although the Stingrays tried hard it wasn't enough to pull back the early deficit and a 3rd loss on the trot was inevitable. Player of the week went to Sebastian for his efforts on goal and Managers player of the week went to Christopher for good wing play and a well taken goal. Thanks to Jeff Raby for running the line, yet again, and the help putting away the nets and post.
