Report A good performance was required against an inform Ascot team from Stingrays, which is exactly what we got. Ascot bossed the 1st half and if wasn't for some brave keeping by Callum and stout defence from Sebastian, Jack, James, Sammy and Conner B later in the half, Racing would have had a comfortable lead. Joe was creative in midfield and was always on hand to help out his defence. Jonathan and Christopher looked for chances when the came from Jordan and Connor G, one chance ended with Jonathan's shot well saved. The 2nd half started with a momentary laspe in concentration and Ascot went ahead (1-1). The Stingray typically didn't lose faith and kept at thier task, especially Joe who led by example, tracking back in defence and distribution from midfield. Slowly but surely the Stingrays got back into the game, taking over control of the midfield through Joe and Lenny. As a result chances came, Christopher, ever industrustrious down the wing crossed a great ball which Conner G headed just wide. Jonathan started to threaten more with his pace combined with Christopher, one solo effort and shot was well saved. Eventually all the effort paid off and from a mistake by the goalie, Jonanthan lashed home the equaliser (1-1). Soon after a great ball from Joe, Jonathan almost put the Stingrays ahead. The whistle went a great performance by the whole team, players players award went to Callum for his brave keeping in the mud and Managers player went to Joe for a captains peformance. Thanks to Jeff once again for running the line and to all parents for getting the boys thier on time. |
